The Butler Art Center & Gallery serves as the creative hub for visual artists in the region. Operated by the Associated Artists of Butler County, the center showcases rotating exhibitions of local and regional artwork, hosts classes and workshops for aspiring creators, and offers opportunities for community members to engage directly with the arts. With its welcoming gallery space in downtown Butler, the center fosters a thriving community for painters, photographers, sculptors, and art lovers.

Butler County Historical Society
The Butler County Historical Society collects, preserves, and interprets Butler County’s rich heritage for the educational benefit of the public. The Society was founded in 1927, when a group of residents met to discuss ways to preserve local history. In 1960, it was incorporated as a private non-profit entity. In 1991, it was designated the official historical organization of Butler County. At its office, the Society maintains a resource library of historical records and documents relating to the county that can be used by the public for research. The Society also owns and operates three historic sites: Cooper Cabin Pioneer Homestead, the Little Red School House, and the Senator Walter Lowrie House.

The Maridon Museum
The Maridon Museum is Butler’s premier institution dedicated to Asian art and culture. Founded by collector Mary Hulton Phillips, the museum features an extraordinary permanent collection of Chinese and Japanese art, including jade and ivory sculptures, woodblock prints, and rare Meissen porcelain. The Maridon hosts exhibitions, lectures, story times, and cultural events that connect visitors of all ages to the rich traditions of East and West.

The Penn Theater
What started as a 20th century moviehouse now reinvents itself as Butler, PA's focal point for the performing arts, live shows, music, comedy, speakers, films, interactive & novel fun, private events & weddings, corporate conferences & meetings, & so much more, serving the community as an anchor for history & heritage, as a source for outreach & support, & as the heart of arts, events, & culture! The Penn Theater is Butler’s only remaining 20th century moviehouse, with construction starting in 1937 and its grand opening in April 1938, styled with classic ‘30s appeal, and featuring 14,000 sq. ft. of usable event and pre-function space. The current Penn Theater is a multi-use, multi-function event facility, keeping the community’s needs and preferences at the center of its operations, with a variety of modular and innovative amenities and arrangements.
