Before Rent, there was Tick, Tick… Boom!—Jonathan Larson’s powerful, autobiographical rock musical about chasing dreams and facing life’s crossroads.

Set in 1990, it follows Jon, an aspiring composer torn between artistic ambition and real-world pressures—from his girlfriend’s desire to settle down to his best friend’s corporate success. With just three actors, a band, and a high-energy score, this show blends humor, heart, and a variety of musical styles.

A heartfelt tribute to creative perseverance, Tick, Tick… Boom! is a moving, melodic journey through love, ambition, and what it takes to make it in the theatre.
